Dr. Charu Ramanathan
Dr. Charu Ramanathan is a repeat entrepreneur, passionate about using technology to solve big problems. In a concerted effort to solve the access, empathy and information gaps in healthcare, she co-founded and leads Vitalxchange, a health community and marketplace platform that connects special needs families with peer and professional experts. She is also the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Lokyata Global, developing advanced credit scoring algorithms to foster financial inclusion in emerging economies. She is currently an investor in North Coast Ventures, Pappy Joe and Dynavisor. She is also involved as a Board member in MedWish, a not-for-profit organization that saves lives and the environment by repurposing discarded medical supplies and equipment to provide humanitarian aid to people in need.
Her career commenced with a PhD in Biomedical engineering resulting in her co-inventing and co-founding CardioInsight, a Company specializing in noninvasive cardiac imaging systems. She led CardioInsight through its growth stages and its acquisition by Medtronic in 2015.
Dr. Ramanathan has been the recipient of several awards for her contributions to technology and humanity including Crain’s 40 under 40, TiE Immigrant Entrepreneur and American Red Cross Hero and is an inventor in over 25 patents.
